Overnight Doula Support: 6 Hours of Rest for a Refreshed Mum

Let's be honest, those first few months after having a baby feel like a permanent state of jet lag, don't they? As a mum of three, I know that truly restorative sleep can feel like the most luxurious, unattainable gift.

You’ve heard the cliché: "Sleep when the baby sleeps." But when are you supposed to shower? Eat? Deal with the relentless washing?

That’s where Overnight Postpartum Doula Support comes in. This service isn't a luxury; it's a necessary investment in your physical and mental health. My goal is simple: to ensure you get a solid, uninterrupted block of rest so you can wake up feeling like a human again.

The Postpartum Game Changer: What 6 Hours of Overnight Support Looks Like in Perth

My overnight support is focused entirely on nurturing the mother and facilitating rest. It's safe, professional, non-judgemental, and completely tailored to your family's feeding methods (breast, bottle, or a mix).

For 6 hours—at a fee of $500—I become the designated night shift manager. I work quietly and efficiently, allowing you to retreat to your room and enjoy true rest.

What You Get (While You Sleep!)

When you book me for an overnight shift, you get:

  • Continuous Newborn Care: I handle all the baby's needs throughout the night: settling, nappy changes, burping, and soothing.

  • Feeding Support (Any Method):

    • Bottle Feeding: I prepare and handle all feeding and sterilisation so you don't even need to leave your bed.

    • Breastfeeding: I gently bring the baby to you when they are ready to feed, help you get comfortable, and then take the baby back for burping, changing, and settling immediately afterwards. This minimises the time you are awake and ensures you can drop back to sleep quickly.

  • Quiet Resets: While the baby is settled, I can quietly tackle essential light tasks, such as sterilising bottles and restocking the change table, ensuring you wake up to a calmer morning.

  • Peace of Mind: Knowing a professional, experienced, and warm doula is monitoring your baby allows your mind to finally switch off and trust the sleep you're getting.

Why Is Overnight Postpartum Doula Support So Essential?

When you're running on empty, everything feels harder. The dishes feel heavier, the anxieties feel louder, and the joy can get clouded by sheer exhaustion.

This service is the most effective way to address severe sleep deprivation, which is a major contributor to postnatal anxiety and depression. It's about protecting your wellbeing so you can show up fully for your baby during the day.

This isn't about 'spoiling' yourself. This is about recovery, resilience, and sanity.
